Earlier this year, a non-CPS Energy contractor installing telecommunications fiber, damaged a twelve-inch natural gas line at the southwest corner of the Blanco Road and Bitters Road intersection. Our crews identified the location of the damage, ensured the site was safe, and made interim repairs. In the spirit of our People First philosophy, your safety as well as the safety of our crews is of utmost importance to us, and as such, permanent repairs to the natural gas line need to be made. We expect the repair project to begin as early as Monday, April 24 and to be completed by Friday, May 5.
During hours of active construction (7pm – 5am, Sunday through Thursday), two southbound lanes of Blanco Road must be shut down south of the Blanco/Bitters intersection along with two eastbound lanes of Bitters Road west of the intersection. The left turn lane of Bitters Road east of the intersection must also be shut down during hours of active construction. The lane closures shall be reduced to one closed southbound lane of Blanco Road and one closed eastbound lane of Bitters Road while our crews are not actively working at the site.
